For those who are looking to join our popular SUP Fit Team and start from the very Beginning. This session will focus on strong paddle techniques, turns and introduce racing concepts that improve overall paddle performance. 75 minute sessions. Starts Sat Aug 7 - Sat Aug 28. Makeup date: Sat Sep 4.

In this 75 minute class, you will learn everything you need to know to navigate and use a SUP safely. This is a very active class with lots of practice using each skill we learn. You will be able to successfully develop a powerful stroke technique that will not only make paddling easier but will arm you for potentially windy conditions. We will work on several types of turns and steering the board as well as stopping. Students will become comfortable with standing up, getting back on the board after falling and receive life saving safety tips about paddling not only locally but internationally. We will discuss currents, wind, weather and sharing waterways with boaters. If you own a SUP and have never taken a formal class or are thinking of purchasing one, we strongly recommend taking this class so you have all the knowledge you will need to be a confident, safe paddler.
